Reinvigorate & vBulletin 4

One of the best ways to track your live stats and visitors is via Reinvigorate. If you’re running vBulletin 4, you can make of an excellent feature of Reinvigorate called NameTags.

From Reinvigorate
Name Tags are an easy way to identify exactly who your visitors are. It works by associating information your site manages (username, e-mail, account ID, etc..) with the session ID Reinvigorate uses to track visitors on your site/blog.

You can setup your name tags for vBulletin 4 very easily.

Reinvigorate tracking code usually looks like this..

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://include.reinvigorate.net/re_.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
try {
reinvigorate.track("xxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx");
} catch(err) {}
</script>

where xxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx is the site id.

In order to track vBulletin 4 with NameTags, use the following code..

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://include.reinvigorate.net/re_.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
try {
var re_name_tag = "{vb:raw bbuserinfo.username}";
reinvigorate.track("xxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx");
} catch(err) {}
</script>

only replacing “xxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx” with the actual Reinvigorate site id.

That’s it! You should start seeing stats of NameTagged Visitors immediately.

Good Luck!!

  1. When I put this in my footer I get this error:

    The following error occurred when attempting to evaluate this template:
    Unclosed Curly Brace Expression
    This is likely caused by a malformed conditional statement. It is highly recommended that you fix this error before continuing, but you may continue as-is if you wish.

    I can uses the tag but the the nametag doesn’t work and every user is $bbuserinfo[username]

    Please help.

  2. @Iken What version of vBulletin are you using?
